It is a pleasure to announce that the Jury of Polish Music Critics Competition KROPKA decided to award the following prizes for the best texts on music published in the year 2016:
1. Grand Prix (for the best text about music published in 2016):
Kaja Prusinowska for the text Mama ma, trochę dobra, trochę zła... [My mama, a little good, a little bad] ("Muzyka W Mieście”)
2. Main Prize (for article/feuilleton):
Małgorzata Gąsiorowska for the text Kanon XIX/XX: Kisielewski ("Ruch Muzyczny”)
3. Main Prize (for review/report):
Krzysztof Marciniak for the text Międzynarodowe Letnie Kursy Nowej Muzyki w Darmstadcie [Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music] ("Glissando")
4. Distinction for a debutant:
Karolina Anna Pawłowska for the text Ratując Pigmejów od zapomnienia [Saving the Pygmies from oblivion] (meakultura.pl)
5. Special Award
David Pountney for a text André Tchaikowsky: from Warsaw to Belmont via a wardrobe ("The Guardian")
Additionally, within the competition, the following prizes were granted:
Piotr Metz Individual Award for text about popular music
Dominik Gac for the text Let The World Burn ("Gazeta Magnetofonowa")
Editor in Chief of Polish Music Publishing House Award
Jakub Dymek for the text Bez winylu [Without a vinyl] (dwutygodnik.com)
Special Prize of Polish Composers Union' Musicologist Section for promoting music in radio and television: Marek Zwyrzykowski
